About Me
I’m Anderson Bobo, a current graduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a master's in journalism. I received my B.S. from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. My passion is the visual arts, sports, and movies.
I’m currently a student-intern with Florida Athletics Creative Video - a subdivision of the University Athletic Association. There I help shoot all the sports on campus. My main role is the cinematographer for the men’s and women's track & field teams. The Florida Gators’ track team is nationally ranked. This past indoor season, their women won the NCAA indoor national championship.
There I produce, shoot, and edit content for the team’s social media pages and websites. I travel with the team and shoot with world-class athletes daily. My work from the NCAA Indoor Championships was featured in a commercial on television for the SEC Network. My videos have also been featured on the NCAA Track & Field’s social media.
I am a freelance photographer. I have shot big events like the NCAA Cross Country and Indoor Track National Championship meets. In the 2021 Cross Country Nationals, I shot for Iowa State University. My work has been published in the Athletics Weekly magazine and on the USTFCCCA official social media pages.
I’m the current photo editor and photojournalist for Atrium Magazine, a student-run magazine at the University of Florida. I help with the photo selection, shoot photos for other journalists, and produce my own photo series. I shoot on digital and 35mm film.
As you can tell from my work experience I am passionate about the running community. I ran Division 1 cross country and track for the University of North Florida. I focused on working hard and bringing up others around me. I started on the team as a walk-on and eventually earned an athletic scholarship by my junior year and was captain for my last three years. I helped the Ospreys win two conference championships.
I found that I love running because it is all about hard work. I have had to work hard in all aspects of my life. Growing up I struggled with dyslexia. School was tough but I did not let that stop me and found ways to work with it. I pride myself on problem-solving. In college, I earned multiple conference honor roll awards.
